  • Why Wednesday

“I discovered Xanga.com when I was in high school nearly four years ago or more.  I can’t manage to write in a journal any more, I’m a little defective.  When I feel alone or need to feel aware of myself my little weblog box is always willing to open up and listen.

It doesn’t tell me no or turn me away, it doesn’t judge or feel the need to give me its point of view unless asked.  It properly reflects me upon myself, if I walk away and forget about it, it’s always there when I come back…

Xanga has given to me the opportunity to publish writings I am not sure about and gain genuine feedback.  It has brought to me the love of my life and given me a chance to have more.  It has helped me learn about myself and those around me.

You see, I Xanga because there is no truer friend.”

  • i’d like to hear more about the love of your life!

  • That’s so amazing. Alot of that is why I xanga as well – it gave me a place to call my own amongst a household of boys, mommyhood and mother-in-laws…

  • Nice weblog good why’s Judi

  • Funny. The love of my life entered my world by way of Xanga as well… I wonder how many people bump into a soul mate just by befriending Xanga?

  • Good. Very fitting.

  • @chrispycrunch - Yea, you have not been posting in a while.

  • Really nice!
I found more of the world. Not just shapes and colors on a map but real people who turns out are a lot like me and even have better things to show me and teach me.

  • I can relate to alot of what nightshadegloom wrote. xanga is a very supportive place for me.

  • Gives the Bear a good way to unwind after a 12 hour day of work….good to read others around the world and have a few good laughs along the way

  • hey xanga team, i have a question, and i wasn’t sure where else to ask…
my site was visited twice today by “district of columbia.” it wasn’t a link like the other xanga pages, just the name written in plain text. what does that mean? is the government monitoring my page?

  • hi im toria=]

    whats up?

  • I’ve been on Xanga under various accounts since 2001.  I kept coming back because Xanga has the best community.  Finally I came back to stay, and bought one of those life memberships.

It’s kind of like I’m married to Xanga, now.  lol

  • @barenakehd - yes, i’ve found a friend (i wouldn’t exactly say soul mate. yet.)  from xanga too, all the way from across the world.

    awesome post.

  • @john -

Wow thanks for putting me up there guys!  I wasn’t sure if my writing was good enough to express just how powerful a tool Xanga is in my life.  I met http://www.xanga.com/Of_Ravens_and_Roses about three years ago and back in September or so I moved out to New Mexico from California to live with her.  I was basically homeless and in a very unstable situation.  Her and I are just on this level unlike anything either of us has ever known.  I’ve been in a pretty bad place over the past couple of days but this really brought me back.  Thanks so much.  Look forward to an invitation to our wedding in two years.

  • Bravo! what a wonderful post about ‘you and why you Xanga’..:) I love it..so true too* and such a special place..friends..community….that and so much more…* Thanks for sharing…* Lee

  • ” You see, I Xanga because there is no truer friend.” ….what a wonderful line…***

  • This testimony says all the good about Xanga . I agree with it . You created a mean to exchange , to express oneself and to got friends in the whole world . It ‘ s a mean to exerce one ‘ s creativity .

I am a Xangan since March 2001. I post my entries on a weekly basis and they are bilingual ( French / English ). More than 100 readers leave a comment , sometimes 150 , and I reply to each of them . So I need time and cannot post more . But I try to make  interesting writings . By this way I have a lot of real friends here on Xanga and I participate fully to the Xanga ‘ s life . I am a true xangan . I wonder why you have created this badge ” True ” that divides Xanga and becomes unpleasant when I see I am not considered by you like a true xangan . I am rather saddened .
Look at this to make your mind . It is a recap of the years 2006 and 2007 and before .

It seems you have counted the number of entries but what about the content ?

  • This is so true. Writing has always been therapeutic for me and Xanga has definitely always been a friend.

  • She expressed it well,I love the WHY site!

  • sometimes i just wanna let it out.
in this day and age it just seems easier to type than literally write often.

  • Awesome!

  • My sentiments exactly. I really appreciate the community that is drawn to xanga. It just seems to draw a different crowd than facebook or myspace – more intelligent, thoughtful and introspective (at least the people that I have met here). No offense to those who use the other two communities – those sites just serve a different purpose.

I like most of the changes that the xanga team has implemented lately. A lot of people hate change, but I think it shows that they are always working to improve xanga. Sometimes they don’t please everyone, but at least they are trying hard to make xanga better for everyone.
