Doing more with Credits
You’ve been racking up Credits since we introduced them last year, spending them on Minis for friends and family. But now there are new ways to spend all those credits. Starting today, you can get premium with credits - you can get any of the regular service plans… or even try for Lifetime with 100,000 Credits! Also, for those of you who don’t think hottieangelbaby74000 is such a great username, you can now change your username with credits.
So now that you know how to spend your Credits, here’s how to get them. Keep commenting on friends’ pages and stay active on the site by inviting friends to join and encouraging friends to send you Minis, too.
Thanks to Joe, the sky’s the limit when it comes to your Credits (well not the entire sky – now you can get up to 100k!). This is our way of saying thanks for being such active members on the site.
This is just the first round of many opportunities you’ll have, so keep checking back for more ways you can spend your Credits!

(picking up my jaw off the floor) I see that I’m not the first person thinking about using credits to “buy” a new name without setting up NEW account!! Too bad I couldn’t take credit for setting up two new accounts for my families… it is in their own email, not mine. Now I need to think up a very unique name- the one that won’t be connected to my name nor email if someone tried to google me. I chose current name before I think to stop to THINK first to choose wisely. THANK YOU!!!

This is great! For a long time like a few weeks I was stuck at 1000, I knew for some reason not to use them. I must have a sixth sense. Ohhh yay I am happy.
@messymarvinus - You can also pay $10 to change your username by buying 10,000 credits. Just go here: http://edit.xanga.com/editusername.aspx and pick out a new username and then click on the link that says “or $10 USD”.

I’ve had my site for a while, but I am a slow learner. Question,…. if one changes their server name, how will others know the change? { Maybe this was a clincher for not understanding.} But even for a slow learner you all seem very willing to keep everyone happy.

Yay! I LOVE being able to by premium with credits. My mom really wants premium, but doesnt want to shell $100 for it (she actually gave me premium as a gift) and I don’t have that much money (I am a college student) So this is a nice way for me to be able to save up and get it for her as a Mother’s Day present!!!!
By the way…..Since I am here, I wanted to add….I LOVE Xanga! Xanga has been there for me during the best times of my life, and the worst. When I was at my lowest (like when my fiance died two years ago) many of my offline friends found it too difficult to be around someone in mourning, but my Xanga friends stayed true to me, and supported me during my darkest time. So I wanted to say THANK YOU!!!! Thank you so much for everything you do, and just for having Xanga all together!!!!

Well its good to hear more is being done with the credits……however don’t you think when mini’s are given ….you could afford to give the person getting them a little more than 10% of their face value that you charge us for giving them?? /////// such as if I give a mini that cost me 1,000 credits your giving the person getting them 100 credits????

Speaking of Star.xanga.com, I still would love to see a page there of all the items that have won star awards. Or is there already a place to find them? I used to spend a ton of time voting over there and couldn’t really find the awarded items so I kinda stopped.

I have a question about protected posting. Now that I finally bought Premium (Yay not being broke!!) I’m probably going to be posting protected more.
Would it be workable to allow us to have more than one protected list, and to be able to have protected posts accessible only to the people on that certain list? I’m not sure if that even makes sense, or is doable. Or maybe it’s something you guys are already working on.
I just thought I’d ask about it.

Changing my username would’ve been something I would’ve jumped on a couple years ago…but after this long, I’ve pretty much grown to like it.. and now it’s me… LOL…

Is the option to buy lifetime with credits going to last indefinitely? Because I’m afraid that once I rack up enough credits to buy premium or lifetime, the option will be canceled or something.
and if you want to change your username and you pay the 10,000 credits, do you only get one username change per 10,000 credits? or can you have more than one in case you choose one and end up hating it a week later?
and I guess now you can buy premium and lifetime and name changes with credits, we will be seeing a drop in credits given to others? or is it if you recieve credits you get credits? I couldn’t find any information on credits on the FAQ’s page anywhere.

@john - What about the surveys for 2,000 credits? I finally was able to meet the criteria of a survey (a feat in itself, because normally I don’t meet the criteria for whatever reason
) on Monday morning, get all the through it, got the little box telling me I successfuly completed it, was entered in the drawing..blah, blah, blah— got the xanga team message telling me that there was a delay and I’d get them the next afternoon, which would have been YESTERDAY, and I still didn’t get my credits for the survey.
How come?

Why would it cost anything to change your user name? Things like that should be free Pretty soon you’ll probably start charging credits to change our layouts or our profile pictures or to write a new blog? Thats just weird to me.

Wait okay, So if you can change your username with credits, can I mesh together two usernames? For instance, my old site December5591, i just relocated (two freaking days ago) to this one, for sake of a better name. Then I upgraded my premium over here. Is there a way to just change the december to this screen name or did I eff myself?

Do you get credits for sending messages? What about posting comments on protected postings?
If you dont, why? Will we in the future?
There are many times when a private message is more appropriate than a public comment. Also, many people are using protected postings only and when I comment there, I dont see an increase in my credits…?

^__^ I like that Xanga has brought up that saving up enough credits will be able to allow us to change our usernames. I really love being active on Xanga, and this will save my OCD problem of always needing a new username. Just means I have to work to save those credits up and so I can change it.

Is there a FAQ for minis and credits?
So, I was really excited about being able to buy Life with just 100,000 credits…I figured that with the survey site it wouldn’t be too awful hard–just time consuming. Boy was I wrong–the stupid survey site worked ONCE, and it hasn’t let me take a survey since. What’s up with that?
