  • More on True

Hey guys, this is John with a few updates on the True program (I had hoped to post this earlier, but a personal emergency kept me offline most of last week).

    OPTOUT

We added a TRUE opt-out to the site.  You may have seen it already – but if you are a true member and would like to hide your badge, you can do so here:

    MAKING IT MORE OBJECTIVE

We got a lot of the feedback around making the true program more
quantitative and objective (kinda like Option 2 here).  So we’re going
to work to make it much more clear and transparent exactly how you can
    qualify for TRUE.

There will be a page showing exactly where you stand and how you can get there.  The TRUE program has always been objective, but this way it would also become totally transparent.  How does that sound?

    THE NAME

We went through all the suggestions and brainstormed like crazy, but ADDICT, SUPER, LOYAL, NUT, etc. – every substitute name has its own issues.  And the random/funny names were just confusing to people when we tested them out.

Given this, we would like to stick with the TRUE name but maybe consider changing the badge to look more like the Xanga logo – basically using the Xanga rainbow:

Or not.  Let us know which badge you would prefer – the TRUE badge or the RAINBOW badge.  (Please pick one)

We’ve tried to build optouts and transparency into the True program as much as possible.  Our earlier tweaks made a big difference, and we’re hoping to close the final gap here.  Let us know what you think!

Comments (210)

  • I prefer the True badge, personally.

  • I agree with the above, I prefer the True badge.

  • Which would I prefer – The Rainbow Badge or the True Badge……at this stage I don’t mind BECAUSE I would just like ONE….!

Okay – I’m off to see where I stand in the line……*sigh* ……….and to see how I can get there faster.

  • i’ve always thought the name “true” is good enough and should be kept to it. and i must say, i do like the RAINBOW badge. very xanga…. :)

  • I Like True better…and it still has the rainbow

  • True is fine with me, but if the rainbow badge would make more people happy … I am totally cool with that.

On another topic, John … I am hoping to take advantage of this new option to change the username.  I noticed that on the page to do so, it says that more names are becoming available.  Does that mean that, say, I could use a name that I previously claimed and deleted in an unfortunate moment of insanity?  Like, pretty please?!

  • I like the badge with the word TRUE. Rainbow colours are great, but they are not as great as the other one.

  • @frejaluna - Hey!  Try our help desk?  Natalia or Eugy should be able to help you out .

  • oh btw – where is this page …..?

…….There will be a page showing exactly where you stand and how you can get there.  The TRUE program has always been objective, but this way it would also become totally transparent.  How does that sound?……….

  • I like True. I also sort of liked it being objective, though, so… idk. I don’t really like it being something you can ‘earn.’ Like you just need to build up enough points to get it. Idk.

I’m sure you guys will make a good decision, and I’ll jump on board. :)

  • yayy for transparency and objective-ness in getting true.  it’s always nice to have a game plan.
i like the badge with the word true.  there’ll always be people who complain, but then again, they can always opt-out.

  • Well, considering you’ll probably have it similar to how it is up there in the example where if you roll over the color badge it says “True,” you might as well just go ahead and have it stamped on the badge already!  I think it keeps everything crisp looking anyway, especially for those with the Life (one of these days, baby!) badge.

  • I prefer with the word TRUE showing.

There is a blogring called Confessions of a Xangaholic. Xangaholic would’ve made a nice name.

  • @venice - We’re collecting thoughts and feedback… if people are down with the idea, then we will build that page!   Sorry for the confusion.

  • @japanika - You mean, like alcoholic? doh…

  • @john - Thanks, John.  That little change could mean a lot more blogging at Xanga for me.

  • I prefer to stick with the TRUE badge. People who don’t know might get the wrong idea about the rainbow badge.

  • True is probably better than just the rainbow. My vote goes there.

  • I like the true badge but I don’t much mind personally.

  • just a rainbow badge would probably confuse members who don’t know what it stands for… so, even though i like its look better, i say stick with true

  • My opinion–Rainbow and when you pass your mouse over it, it will say “true”.

  • I don’t care much which badge you are using. I like the True badge more than the logo only option.

I welcome the fact hat you are building some quantitative transparency into the process of assigning the true badge. Giving some visibility will also be a motivator for people to up their participation.

I hope you are adding the possibility of loosing a True badge if performance levels drop. It might be a bit more work on your side but it will be fun to have a counter that indicates how long you have had your true badge since you became part of Xanga. Maybe have some reward like credits or access to new mini’s when you have maintained your Xanga True badge over a period of time. Maybe there is a performance level when you become a permanent True member of Xanga? The opportunities are huge to keep Xanga’s loyal and active.

Good luck and thanks for listening to Xangan comments.

  • i like the true badge because of the word ‘true’ (lets not start an argument over that); honestly it’s better than a bunch of meaningless colors…
i think its great that you’re going putting up a transparency page; then i’ll know exactly when i can get my true badge ;)

  • the true badge.
question though: has there been any conclusion about the possible additional benefits of being a “true” member, besides recognition?

  • personally i like the true badge, much like the life badge. :)

  • I love the idea of a page that says exactly what makes somebody TRUE.

And…I vote for the TRUE badge.

  • True seems fine.

  • @nocturnal_anonymous - The benefits are really centered around the credits program?  This is really focused more on recognizing our most active users…

The good thing is, TRUE users should have a ton of credits.  So they should be getting lots of benefits that way?

  • It should say XANGSTA! get it get it…xanga and gangster…………

  • i like the TRUE badge.

  • I’m totally fine with TRUE. :D The rainbow’d work too, though!

  • Damn, you all went truly (no pun intended) above and beyond to please all the xangaroos out there. Glad you kept the True name and I like the True badge as it is, thanks for asking for opinions.

  • @john - Maybe true users can get a boost in credits? Just a thought. Really appreciate everything you’ve been doing for us. I knew sticking around for this long would pay off some day.

  • I’m up for the idea you stated on the link about xangans who have been on xanga for years. . .as I have.  However, I did recently change sites.  I didn’t shut down my original site (too much info I still need to download to my computer!), but how would you handle someone like me?  I’ve been on since 2004.  And hey, what about those blog rings that have been around for a long time?  Being a leader of one that has been very active since 2005, I wonder if you’ll “acknowledge” us?  Most of us have a site that goes right along with the blog ring.  Will you be considering that part of our community too?  Just some more areas of Xanga to ponder!  Thank you for always striving to improve our experience here!~Jeri_Dee

  • I prefer the TRUE badge for those who’ve qualified. The plain rainbow badge signifies you being a Xanga user. Well, all of us are Xangans so it won’t be that suggestive of “TRUE.” I guess… :)

  • I like the TRUE badge, but what is “option 2″? I couldn’t find it when I clicked the link… (it could be that it’s nearly 2 AM here and I’m in a sleepy state of restlessness…)

  • You got it right the first time. The “TRUE” the way it is is exactly right.

  • I think you should stick with the current badge.  I also think you guys may be over thinking some of this stuff.  I personally would like to see you continue to focus on the things that will improve the overall Xanga experience.  The replying to comments feature, new private page and themed pages have all been nice.  I could live without some of the truly useless things (Do 16 year olds really want minis?? What’s the demographic?).  Don’t fall victim to the identity crisis syndrome of some other sites.  You’re not Facebook and you’re not MySpace.  Do you want to be a social networking site, or do you want to be a blogging site?  Google has been doing some interesting things with blogger, but I think the Xanga community is still much better.  I imagine you have a huge list of requested bug fixes and feature enhancements just waiting in the queue.  I would like to see some of those things happen before the next “mini” or “true” thing comes along.  Do you guys publish you long term strategic plan for the site?  Do you have User Groups or Focus Groups that interact with your various project teams?  You’ve got a very loyal user base here, and I know it’s hard to please everyone.  Maybe start with a survey?  Keep your eyes on the prize though.  There’s a lot more that can be done to make this a top notch site.  It’s clear what Facebook is doing with photos and videos is the way of the future.  Your editing tools could use some work.  If Xanga could be my digital central repository, and allow me to truly manage my photos, audio & video along with my blogging, that would really be great.  It’s kind of a drag that I have to rely on Google to find something that I blogged about last year, because (aside from now archaic tagging) Xanga is fairly unnavigable for past entries.  I would gladly pay you instead of Yahoo (Flickr) or Google (Picasa/Blogger) to have a system that could link my digital life with my photos.  Now that would be genius.  Keep up the good work.  Thanks.

  • @Jeri_Dee - I don’t know how we could fairly recognize people who have moved on from old usernames.  With the new change username feature though, you could change your old one to something new… maybe that would help?

Interesting on the blogring idea!  I’ll pass that along to the TRUE team.

  • I like the way the TRUE badge looks.  Just the rainbow by itself might be a bit simple but also does accomplish the keeping it from giving you status idea.  Still, TRUE looks good.

  • @john - I didn’t know there was a new feature to change your name on a site!  Holy cow what have I been doing? (designing sites and “womanning” my blog ring!)  I missed that announcement!  And I’m glad I brought something to your attention that hadn’t been considered before!

  • @john - Oh, okay. . .I just checked it out.  Now I know 10,000 credits to change your user name or 10.00. . .got ya!

  • @Jeri_Dee - You can earn those credits, or buy them for ten dollars (1k credits generally equals $1 towards Xanga premium or username changes).

  • Personally, I like the True badge.  a badge with some colors looks pretty but the word ‘true’ on it makes it have more meaning.

  • I prefer TRUE.

Please keep quality of content in your list of qualifications for a TRUE badge. If it’s just a specific number of posts you can be sure many will post near gibberish just to up their count.

A good item for transparency is how one qualifies for featured post. =)

  • Tough Decision,   I like both options,   but I am going to say how the true badge looks at the moment.

  • Thanks for the update!

  • i prefer true. thanks. (:

  • TRUE badge… since there is a LIFE badge with the word on it already.  go for the consistency.  i like the look of the badge right now, plus “TRUE” just sounds nice.

  • I like “TRUE”…also I like to become TRUE!!!

  • if you change to the Rainbow badge it ‘s almost as if you changed the name – it

I like the name and the True badge

*and yes please, I would like to have one - someday*

it’s a fine line though – if it bewcomes too much of a contest, the quality level of the contents might sink – and that would be sad

  • I like the TRUE word. Otherwise, it could be Life or anything.

But, once everyone has a TRUE badge, what will it mean?

  • OK let me get this straight. We can change names now. So now if somebody gives up a username, someone else can take it over? That’ll just be loads of fun trying to keep track of who is who, won’t it?

  • I just want a badge.

    -RR-

  • Yep, keep the TRUE name and the badge. I know, the trouble with getting it right the first time is that no one appreciates how difficult it was. But you guys nailed it.

  • I forgot, it really doesn’t matter to me which thing you use for the new icon/badge. Whatever thing you do is going to make some part of the membership unhappy, and since this is simply a little digital graphic, whatever one you use will be fine by me, it was the initial thought of recognizing some of those who have been active and using Xanga that I was pleased by anyway…

  • I much perfer the True badge the way it is.

  • I, too, prefer the True badge.  I don’t think there’s anything wrong with it and you’re right — those substitute names that people came up with don’t work that well.  The rainbow badge would be OK, I guess, but I’ve just gotten used to seeing True around Xanga…. Thanks for asking!

  • but how can i apply for one?

  • I like both the True badge and the rainbow, but if I have to pick one I’d go with the rainbow!

  • Oh! and making the process transparent is a terrific idea!  I don’t know how many times I’ve seen folks whining about why I have one and they don’t!  I had no clue in some cases, but now they can find out! (and it avoids me being made to feel bad because I happen to have one!)  Terrific idea!
(and no – I’m not hiding my badge!  Let the world (well, Xanga world) see that I’m an addict! )

  • I prefer the TRUE badge, just because it makes more sense. Some people might be confused by just seeing the rainbow – but that is just my personal opinion.

  • I like the true badge, but am not opposed to the rainbow. Now, if we could just get rid of the spam I just got as a message…. Princess Adeline Assi wants me to send $9 million.

  • I would like to keep the TRUE badge.

  • I prefer the True badge with the actual word.

  • i’d prefer the rainbow badge

  • i prefer the true badge.

  • I like the TRUE badge just fine.  People are always going to find something to complain about no matter what option you pick.

  • I like the TRUE badge.

I think it would be great for people to see how far they have to go to get the badge.  It is hard to reach a goal when you don’t know what it is.

John, I hope all is well now.

  • Transparency would definitely be helpful. It may even help more people to become active members of Xanga if they have a clear sight of how to get the little badge thingy.

I like the plain rainbow badge; maybe without the words, less people will have hurt feelings.

  • I like the true badge as well! I feel a sense of honor when I see it. *Grin*

  • I like the TRUE badge. But could the name on the badge not be something that is selected at the same time as when a member opts-in to this exclusive club (exclusive only because I am not a member )?

  • If I have to choose between these two choices, I will want the one with word TRUE to go with LIFE (if I ever get enough credits!).

  • I like the TRUE badge better.
The Rainbow makes it seem more like that person is part of the Xanga team.

  • good call moving to something more standardized. i know a lot of people were trying to figure out how / why they recieved a true badge (or didnt for that matter)

  • I like the TRUE badge better than the plain logo rainbow.

  • I always thought the issue wasn’t the badge, but the idea itself.

I don’t have a problem with either, so I say leave it as is :)

  • omg, the rainbow one looks awesome as well!
:D how do you guys get such brilliant ideas?! Haha.

But I think prefer the true badge.

  • I prefer the true badge.

  • Even though I don’t have it, I like the current TRUE badge…it matches the LIFE badge.

  •  Though I understand trying to find a happy-medium..You cant please everyone.

In my opinion, the rainbow logo might be confusing if someone doesnt know what it is..at least they can probably figure out “True”…

Either way, thank you for the hard work!

  • I like the True badge.

  • I think the Rainbow has more of a classy look too it but is too generic. So I’d say go with the true!

  • I like the True badge as I see it.

  • I’d personally vote for the rainbow alone – but my vote always goes with aesthetics.
I just think it looks better.
    g.

  • I prefer the TRUE badge over the generic xanga rainbow.

  • I want the TRUE badge.  Let us who have earned TRUE status show it off, please!

  • you SHOULD build that page
and I think you guys should stick with the true badge

  • hmm… I would be okay either way with the type of badge.

Idea: adding the number of years and/or number of nominations the person has on the side of the banner?  I like the idea of creating a ocmmunity that you can feel you can have reputable posters.

  • Well, if I HAD one, I would like the TRUE badge. But since I don’t have one… maybe my opinion isn’t worthy. I post, I comment, I do all that I am supposed to. Maybe I am just boring???

    Anyway- True for me, PLEASE????

  • I would LOVE a page detailing the TRUE program and the qualifications and everything.

    Personally, I like TRUE.

  • I really like the ‘True’ badge over the rainbow one.

So, if you have an extra lying around in the land of Xanga ….send one my way!

  • Whatever… it all sounds good!

To be honest… I am a little hurt I havent gotten one yet! LOL! I have been on xanga and posted/ commented fairly regularly since then (my original name was massa182000 but that site messed up so I had to change). But I guess I am willing to be patient…

I asked before but have you guys thought anymore about the referring a friend thing for it? Cause like I said there are several people on my subs list I have been reading for so long and I would consider to be a true xanga member and they dont have it yet… Or I guess maybe the page you guys are thinking about would cover that? maybe getting a referal would knock something off the list? Maybe just letting people nomintate one person a month or something to stop people from just nominating the hell out of everyone on their subs list for their friends. I know you guys have so many members it must be terribly hard to go thru and add everyone who should get it, maybe that would help?

    Anyway…good work! :)

  • Prefer TRUE.  :)   But if you change I won’t complain.  I sure hope you stay clear of Xangsta.  I’d opt out right quick.

  • Rainbow badge would be great!  Hopefully I can even get one soon! LOL

  • My vote is to keep it “true.”

  • Ok I just went and read the other post! Sorry! I must have missed that one somehow! :)

  • Both are nice, but I like TRUE better. I already got used to that, haha.

  • TRUE badge, the rainbow..just now…and it’s completely unclear what it means.

  • I like the rainbow badge.. diversity is where its at for me…

  • @Luvthewaves - And I think the True Badge looks better with your Life Badge as well!

  • Though I don’t have one, the current True badge looks fine.

  • I think those are all great ideas!

    I like the “true” badge.

  • @ForHisGlory2 - I like that idea. No more “true” badge unless you mouse over the little rainbow. The little rainbow is obviously a xanga thing, at least to any regular xanga reader/user.

  • I like the True Badge too. It makes me feel good!!

  • @john - ”We’re collecting thoughts and feedback… if people are down with the idea, then we will build that page!   Sorry for the confusion.”

Okay, I’m -down with the idea- looking forward to viewing the page.

  • I vote for the True badge

  • i love having a true badge, it’s like payback for all the hours i’ve spent on here haha! :) xx

  • the TRUE badge is nice.

  • i say the rainbow, and each color is another level closer to “True” status. and you can see how many posts/comments/whatever you need to earn the next color.

    yes?

  • I personally like the TRUE badge as it is.

  • Keep the true badge. I would like a true badge too… When is this page that is supposed to tell us where we stand coming?

  • I prefer the True badge.  The Xanga badge is still a really good idea and can be used as another badge in the future if you guys get any more ideas.

  • Hmm. Never thought about what was “wrong” with the true badge but I can see the point… Rainbow badge is pretty though. :)

  • I like the TRUE name.  The original of how ya’ll came up with it.
I also think that those with XangaLock and FriendsLock deserve to get it.  At least the ones with XangaLock.  That whole friendslock thing kinda drives me nuts, anyway.  People randomly visit my site but I can’t even go and check them out because I’m not their “friend”.  Grr.
Like how would I even know I’d WANT to be their friend?  I’m not going to request it just because….you know what I mean?!

  • I like the TRUE badge, but either one would work!

and, yes, I’d like to find out where I stand too!

I love the way Xanga takes everyone’s suggestions and considerations for the members – you’re all great!

    Take care,

    Kimbers

  • I like the True badge.  It looks like the Life badge.  Then there is consistancy.

  • I’ve grown to like the TRUE badge. Haha

  • I like my “true” badge just the way it is.  It’s great!

  • i like the True badge :)

  • I say keep the true badge!

  • Transparency is a wonderful thing.  I’d been wondering where I stood and how to get there since the badge was introduced, and now that I’ve got the badge I have no idea how.

I vote for the badge with the word on it.

Also: sorry to hear about your personal emergency, hope it wasn’t anything too awful.

  • Dear John,

I like my TRUE badge TRUE, just like it is. I vote to keep it the same.

Michael F. Nyiri, poet, philosopher, fool

  • In my opinion, the TRUE badge looks more bold and cool.  Either one is fine.  I like TRUE more, though….

  • i like the true badge… i dont really understand why people had a problem with it. But the xanga logo is okay as well. Addict would be entertaining hahaha….

Thanks for thinking of the xanga community.

I was MIA for awhile and I came back and WOW. You guys have done so much to make this a more social place

  • i like the true badge.  now if i can just get one!

Good luck with your decisions =)

  • Thank you, Xanga Team, for making it possible for me to change my username back to one that I never should have deleted in the first place!  I’ll now be blogging here A LOT MORE.

  • I think you should stick with the True badge, I personally do not like the rainbow badge.

  • the true badge ! it’s more clearer

  • Maybe the rainbow would be less offensive to people … although who knows?  People are going to complain no matter what you do.

  • I like the name. it makes me feel more special. haha. like I’m a true commited member. :]

  • I like the true badge.

  • I like the rainbow bar. :]

  • I’m glad you guys are sticking with the name.  :D

  • i like it to be true

  • i like the true badge how it is. (:

  • I don’t know I am okay with the True badge but if it soothes the angry mob with torches and haying forks to use a rainbow than by all means do that.

  • TRUE…………. =D

  • The true badge looks better.

I applied for true a while ago now ..

  • I like the TRUE Badge… the rainbow one is cool but TRUE sums it up i think…

  • The colors most deff!

  • A page showing people the qualifications for TRUE, and where they stand towards meeting them, sounds like a very good idea.

I agree that there is no name any better than TRUE.

I like the rainbow badge somewhat better than the word badge. Both will amount to the same thing over the long run, however.

  • I agree with everyone else. I like the badge with the word “TRUE” on it. It seems more special rather than a generic logo.

  • if i saw the rainbow, I would think, oh how cute!  But what is it?  When I first saw the TRUE badge, I thought “oh that’s probably a new Xanga thing for Xanga addicts”.

    So I say TRUE

  • I like the “True” badge… however… I guess I’m not “true” enough… since I don’t have a badge yet. What’s a girl gotta do to get the dang badge!!!!!!!!!!!! LOL

  • hmm waiting for that “page” where i can see where i stand for the true program. -ahem-

  • I do like rainbows, and the ranbow badge is spiffy, but I think I’d rather stick with the TRUE badge. Maaaybe you could give choice? Or is that taking it too far?

  • I like that it says “True”…I am on xanga daily, I comment all my subbers the best I can (even before the mini’s came out) and I have made true friends on here…xanga is a daily thing for me and alot of my friends and subbers on here..the word TRUE means alot to me..because we are True xangans!!

BTW…I’m still waiting for my badge …you subbed me on 2/7/08 and still nothing

  • You should keep the true badge.  The rainbow says Xanga, but adding the word true makes a difference.

  • i like it the way it is :]]

    happy day to you!

  • i think the TRUE badge is definitely better than the rainbow logo.

  • The True Badge.

The “Rainbow” badge seems a little lacking.

  • I prefer the true badge! :)

  • I think the option of both would be nice? I personally prefer the plain rainbow.

  • I forgot to say, but to add to my previous comment:
I’m sorry, but I don’t like the idea of a having a page listing exact qualifications.
If that were to exist, too many people would check the page out, and become active in the community just for the sake of the badge. I don’t know, personally, I think people should be active because they want to be, not so they can get a few pixels.

That’s just my two cents :]

  • I think that no matter which you choose in the end, somebody will be unhappy.

  • And yay!  It’s gone!
Thank you for the option to hide it! =D

  • The true badge is better then the rainbow one. How about actually drawing a little rainbow with the xanga colours?

    -Heidi

  • I don’t think it makes a huge difference.

  • True and Life badge look neat side by side.
    It’s a great program.
It really gets people up and around.

  • I think you should keep the True badge in its original form. The rainbow badge will only raise more questions. And it does look like a candy on its own.

  • Or worse… a row of M&Ms

  • I like the TRUE badge as it is. The rainbow doesn’t tell me anything. JMHO.

  • The true badge would be great… but sadly it seems that i don’t qualify for it even though i have been on here for 7 years and update almost every day. But i know countless other people who do qualify will enjoy that badge…..

  • Stick to the current TRUE badge, please thank you! (:

  • true

  • one more thing about the TRUE badge.  you know how the badge shows up in the “Basic Info” module, underneath the “name” and “member since” fields.  why is there a TRUE in text next to the badge?  isn’t the badge enough?  just something i just noticed, is all.

  • I prefer the true badge over the xanga rainbow one. I think if it was just the rainbow, it may confuse people. Also, will there be any benefits to being true, besides the recognition?

  • I like the existing True badge.  Please don’t change it!

  • Cool little logo.

    I would like to join.

  • the name with the rainbow is much better than the rainbow alone, imo.

  • I prefer the TRUE badge as well. I can’t believe this is such a huge issue, lol! But then again… it was a huge issue to me too, when I first found out about it.

  • I like the True badge… especially since I just got one!  Thanks a million (sorry, I don’t have that many props to leave!).

    Keep up the good work!

  • I think the original True badge should stay, rather than the rainbow being instated.  The rainbow would definitely be confusing.  It could mean just about anything Xanga affiliated, even the Mini picture has the rainbow on it.

“If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.”  Right?

  • I like the”true” badge

  • How long do you have to have Xanga in order to be a “True” member/ have a “True” badge?

  • What’s a Life badge?

  • I’m in for the Rainbow but the true badge is on a similar theme as Life but the problem is that people who don’t have the badge say true, might think it means they are not true or not good enough.

  • I Dont Have A True Badge,  Will This Apply? =o

  • I like the “True” badge with the rainbow.  By itself, the rainbow does not have much identity.

    Kathi

  • ^Well, the rainbow has identity with Xanga itself, of course – but not with what “True” is supposed to represent.  So it needs the name with it.

  • I like True, because it has a certain ring to it.  like when someone says, you’re a true blue.  So if it’s to recognize faithful Xangans, keep it.

  • id rather see the true badge in my opinion

  • I bet  you didn’t think you would get so many problems from this little badge!  Next time do a beta.

  • I like being TRUE.   I want to keep my TRUE badge.  It makes me happy!

  • I prefer the true badge, as well.  If only I could get one on my page…

  • True badge would be good. I know that this an old news bulletin, but I still think it good to leave a comment. Woooooooooooooo Hooooooooo!!!

  • I like the TRUE badge better.

  • I like the TRUE b/c when someone has Life the two badges make a short sentence. Hahah!

The rainbow is also nice. Doesn’t really matter to me. Do what works best.

  • I vote for “True” above just the rainbow. … but I’m ok with whatever.

  • i like TRUE badge more=]

i think TRUE will be more specific & meaningful

THX for creating these badges>>>gd ideas!!

  • I like the “True” badge. not just colors in a line.

  • When will the site be up to show where you stand for TRUE status?

  • I love the TRUE icon!  Please don’t change it :]  I actually flaunted it a bit when I first received it, because I didn’t ask to be considered… I was just found and given the lovely TRUE badge which I don’t want ever to be taken away from me! :]

  • Question: Not sure where to post this kind of thing, so I am doing it here.

I have been on Xanga, as an active member since 6/2005. I post frequently (except for a portion of time last year when I got three sibling foster children and had ZERO time on the computer) and I comment alot. What other criteria does it take to get a ‘True’ badge? Just curious….

  • I’ll go with that one.

  • Have I missed a nomination form for another person, or should I use the application?

  • I dont get it! ive been a member of xanga for almost 5 yrs, post just about everyday (ill admit i get behind a day once in a while), comment to people everyday, been a premium member for just about 3 yrs, and there are xanga friends i have that have done less who are members of true and im not. not even close! it says im only 44% true and i dont get that at all!

  • I would like the true one. One question: once you have the badge, and say you go on holiday and then come back, does the badge dissapear? Or does the activity level only affect you if you don’t have the badge yet?

  • the True badge, but there should be some benefit to members with the true badge though… ever considered that?
