Back to the Future (or at least to Current Time)
Future posting has been a big hit, but a few of you have mentioned you missed the “Update to current time” checkbox of the old editor. We inadvertently took it out when we added future posting…
But of course, we aim to please… so Janet and Ayca added it back to the editor!
Hope you guys enjoy.

Cool! Keep up the good work!
good! i was hoping you guys would put it back… because i’m too lazy to type in numbers, :p
great stuff there! thanks!
Yeah, I really love future posting- I tend to write real late at night, but I want my posts to appear in the morning when people are actually AWAKE. I’ve definitely used it more than once. Thanks so much!
Interesting. Thanks!
And I noticed and appreciated it! Thank you!
@janet @ayca - Thanks Janet and Ayca!!!
yea! thanks!
@seedsower - how meta!
Yay, I’m glad it’s back. Good job, guys.

Thanks I’m glad you put it back.
Good! Was not very convenient the other way.
love you xanga
I’m very glad that it is now available as it makes it alot easier to put in the current time. Greatly appreciate the uncovering of the old features that we all thought we could do without but unfortunately we cannot cope without them.
I still do not see the future posting functionality on the editor I am using…Please help.
That’s good to hear! Thanks for adding it back.
Thank you so much! I missed it a lot!
clapclapclap!
Thank you!
Thank you very much!
@Zeal4living - You must be using an older version of the editor. On your weblog editor settings, change the editor you are using to “Rich text – default”.
wooot yay
good to know that it’s back
Great, thanks! I prefer that it is there still.
how come my editor doesn’t have this option (to select what date it will appear)? I have two xangas: one is a life time account that I have had for nearly 3 years now and the other is a newer free version. The new one works fine with back or future posts. But my lifetime account is missing this feature. What is wrong??
thank you
@trulytaken - http://edit.xanga.com/editeditorsetting.aspx – can you check your editor setting, please? you’ll want “rich text – default”
I’m very glad it’s back! You guys are just awesome for listetning so much to your usesrs!
P@Natalia - PERFECT! That was the problem! You all are the best!!!
woohooo thanks a bazillion!!
Thank you. I missed that little feature.
Thanks. I missed it, but not badly enough to ask for it back. I keep trying to adjust to your changes… sometimes it is hellishly hard.
Fantastic of bring it back.
Your ideas are getting better and better Xanga, You listen to your users.
Yayy thanks =)
great job, team! thanks for listening to user feedback!
I was wondering where that button went. Glad to have it back.
thanks! I missed it too!
This is totally off topic, but I can’t remember where else to submit my suggestion… How about adding rating and recommend buttons to themes?
Thanks for bring that current time future back on :O)
XANGA IS THE BEST PLACE TO BLOG!!!!!
@sean - I know! Thats the most annoying thing about xanga/safari (:
@gurkhason - hey i found your comment!! hahahahah…….
Thanks! Good stuff!
MyXangaSpacebook is just getting confusinger and confusinger…some of us ain’t into programming
amazzzing.
To the staff at Xanga: Guys, could
I suggest introducing a feature that I think a lot of users would like
and would get a lot of your relatively inactive users to be a little
more active?
Let us chose the titles for our pages, the way Blogger and WordPress do. For example, when you go to my place at Blogger,
the title at the top of the page doesn’t read “josephdunphy’s Blogger
Site”, it reads “Monday Never Comes”, something a little more personal
and a little less generic, and I hope this isn’t too blunt, but a
little less shoddy. This may seem like a small thing, but then again,
the same might be said about touching up the paint on one’s house or
putting on a suit before going to a job interview; those little touches
affect how others perceive one’s efforts, and sometimes how one feels
about them oneself.
Certainly, to offer us freedom in this
area wouldn’t involve a huge outlay of labor or diskspace on Xanga’s
part, and the less generic a blog seems, the likelier visitors are
going to be to take it seriously as a blog. I assume, perhaps
incorrectly, that Xanga would like to improve its Google pagerank? A
blog that looks nicer and is taken more seriously is a blog that people
are likelier to link to, bringing traffic and additional ad revenue
Xanga’s way, so this strikes me as being a win-win proposition for
everybody except Xanga’s competitors. So, would Xanga be willing to
consider doing this?
I would have posted this in the general user forum for Xanga, but I can’t seem to find one, so I’m posting it here.
Thanks, I’m so happy that it is back now. I nearly did backflips – seriously! =)
Thank you!
Thank you!
Before any misunderstandings arise …
I posted the remark above, which begins “To the staff at Xanga”, in which a suggestion to allow the users to choose the titles of their sites at Xanga is offered. Note the passage reading
“Let us chose the titles for our pages, the way Blogger and WordPress do. For example, when you go to my place at Blogger, the title at the top of the page doesn’t read ‘josephdunphy’s Blogger Site’,”
I don’t know why Scyer’s name now appears at the bottom of my post. I’m guessing that it is because he edited my post, the format of which has been visibly changed in a manner that is clearly not an improvement, but I don’t know that to be a fact. I don’t even know who “Scyer” is, having never heard of this individual before, but I do know that he (or she) isn’t me and that on the whole, I’m not a fan of the practice of attaching one’s name to other people’s writing. I’m also not tremendously thrilled with the idea of a 15 year old (note the 1993 birth date cited on somebody’s profile) being given the authority to edit the comments of full grown adults in locations that are not part of his own personal webspace, and if anybody wants to take offense at the ageism of that, I have one word for them.
Good.
What is not at all good is the incredibly low level of professionalism shown by a staff which sets up the system in such a way as to make this sort of thing possible, and then can’t even be bothered to provide a contact link for use when problems arise. This incident has grossly undermined my confidence in Xanga, leaving me, as a user, with little if any inclination to put much more effort into posting at a location where this sort of thing occurs, and I would tend to think that most adults will feel likewise and post elsewhere. But I’m guessing you guys will get some killer shots of somebody’s high school.
Thank you so much. I must say, as a chronic Xanga account maker, I have about 5 of them, which I used this very nice service to put all posts onto my current account, with the old accounts slated for deletion. Thanks, this helps a lot in my preservation of posts. Also, awesome tags too. I tagged EVERY post I put on there, successfully making ‘SumSum’ (My girlfriends name), one of the top tags. Awesome, and keep up the great work!
YAY! I didn’t complain or anything, but I was totally thinking to myself…man, I miss being able to just update to current time. Thanks, xanga team!
I didn’t even realise it was gone! *d’oh* Guess that’s what I get for having a broken computer and not being able to post stuff
But yey! It’s back!
.
aLRIGHT!!! you guys rock! please keep up the good work! I know you guys want to please us!
Love love love this
Thanks
x
Hooray! Thank you.
Thank you, thank you, thank you. I’ve always written posts ahead of time, and just saved them as “private” (using that as a sort of “draft” mode). I liked being able to just “update to current time and date” when I changed them to “public”. I really appreciate being able to do that again. Thanks, again!
Thank you! It’s a very useful feature.
WTH
that’s good ,good to see that
hey i love xanga can you get me some friends i don’t know how to, or you can tell me how i can get some friends i would really like to know
i.l.x.(i love xanga)
tootles tootles bye bye !!!!!!!!!!!
My editor still only shows the old checkbox, for some reason I can’t seem to do future posting! Is there a reason for this?
