Oh, Snap
You know those little Snap Shot previews that show on Xanga pages? We’re gonna go ahead and turn them off for now.We know that some of you guys did like the previews, so we’re leaving them available as an option for now. If you want to re-enable them, you can go ahead and do that here:

THANK YOU! While they were sometimes helpful, they were mostly annoying, especially if I was trying to open the link in a new window/tab.

I had them turned off anyway. But others couldn’t turn them off for technical reasons, so thank you.

I’m torn over how I should feel about them, a lot of times i find them annoying, but they’ve saved me from being Rickrolled a few times too LOL

i’ve always turned it off. I find it slows down the page load times when on.
i hated when you would go for a preview and no picture would show up, just html or links or a xanga lock etc lol..
Was never a fan of it and have had it turned off since it became available. Thanks for trying, though.

Maybe you could make it a premium only ability to turn them off giving just one more incentive to shell out hard earned cash. (Or what is more likely the case–racking up yet another credit card bill.)
Thank you. They are slightly annoying and I have enough annoying me right now. Headache, to cold to go out and play, that annoying noose, paper cut, hang nail, spilled milk, inlaws (always) You see how it is.

Thank you! I never see these things on other websites, and I think it’s for good reason! I can see where they’d come in handy, but it gets annoying when they keep popping up whenever I move my pointer over just about anything on the page!

For those who like them, Firefox has an extension called Cooliris that does much the same thing on any website. Look before you leap and all that….

THANK YOU. I hate those things. Any time they popped up, I couldn’t click, so I had to move the cursor off and back on and hope that it didn’t get in the way again.
Love the option, but personally hated the feature. :]

I love those preview windows. It keeps me from opening multiple windows for you tube videos and stuff like that. Plus, it really helps when you’re about to get Rickrolled!

Please make the video on the front page NOT automatically play. Most of ther websites learned to put a play button on the video about a year ago, I don’t know why you guys haven’t. in fact, you seem to excel at making the xanga front page an annoying mess of pop ups, truth bullshit ads, or some other idiotic thing. Grats on that, I suppose.
Oh my god, FINALLY. Those things are CRAZY annoying. Sometime’s they’re useful, like when somebody posts a youtube link, but pages freezing because I accidentally moused over a link is not cool. Bottom line, keep ‘em, but make us work to get to them if possible.

Thank you very much, the previews were always sort of a bother. They were too small too ever be of any help, and only got in the way.

I turned them off a long time ago,that is one of the MANY things that I love about you,you offer option to turn off the features that we do not like.

I’m ecstatic that you guys turned off the screen shots. =) definately a good move on your part. I had a few suggestions for you guys, and I’m giving them to you with total respect. It’s just, as a xanga provider site, I was hoping you might add a few things.
I was hoping that maybe you might make it a bit easier to turn off themes. Like, when people make a xanga page, to have a ‘no theme’ option, or, when you go into your look and feel, to have a ‘theme/no theme’ option at the top. I’ve had to log into a lot of other people’s sites lately to turn off their themes for them, and it’s getting tedious. It’s taking up a lot of my time, that I could spend much more productively.
Speaking of themes, I think that you guys should make it so that bold/italic/underline/strike fonts are a different color than the regular font, as an option. It’s eye catching, and makes sites look better. Scroll bars in subscription modules would be awesome, too.
Also, it’d be cool if when you ‘reply’ to someones comment on another person’s site, it might actually comment their site instead of just leaving it on whomever they originally commented on. I don’t know if you’d be able to do that, because of the coding it would take, but, once again, it’s just a suggestion.
And I was hoping you might make it an option to message an entire blogring? Because I’m in a lot of roleplays, and when we have annoucements to make (parties, site shutdowns, reminders, ect.), it’s really aggravating to have to go to each person’s site individually. I’m sure a few people would abuse that ability, but, for the most part, it would just help out a lot of people.
I hope you guys check these comments. =) Thanks for making xanga. Obviously, I adore it. Lol.

Hey, I don’t know if you read ALL your comments, but I have a question.
After have Premium through monthly payments, is it possible to convert my membership to a lifetime one? I’ve been paying monthly forever, and I so want to be lifetime, but on disability, I’ll not be able to pay $100 at one time. I just figured that once you get $100 in monthly payments, it might be fair to convert to lifetime. PLEEEEEZE oh please! I’m a “True” member that LOVES Xanga!

Xanga i love you and i know you guys must be mad busy but is there any chance in the near future we’ll be getting a Search feature for our blogs ? It’d be so much easier to go back and look for certain entries just by punching in a couple of key words in shnazzy personal search box rather than tagging everything. Maybe you could add it to the extra modules ? Perhaps ?
I can’t be the only one that thinks this is a good idea right ? Right ? lol… mmmk

I did not like the previews so yes! What is wrong with Xanga today. I cannot get to my invites. I cannot upload photos. When will it be fixed. I suggest you have a place that tells us when your down and an estimated up time. Judi

These are still showing up on -ish sites by default… not too big a deal as it gives you the option to turn them off, but still annoying nevertheless
