Most Rec’d and Most Recent posts!
We just launched a new “Explore” area focused on weblogs! It’s got the “Top Blogs” list plus a couple more ways to find cool posts:
- Most Rec’d – now you can see the most recommended posts on Xanga! This one is particularly neat – we’ve been using it ourselves to help find blogs to feature, and it’s a lot of fun.
- Recent Updates – we’ve brought back Recent Updates! It’s useful for finding new Xangans to welcome to our little community or just to find random stuff to read – hot off the presses. Tip of the hat to xanga.com/explosive and the 260 other Xanga who voted for the Idea.
Let us know what you think!

But it’s all the ‘ish’ sites.
This is neat it is a way to find cool posts. Judi
Cool.
Thank you guys! You’re awesome.
*makes out with all the female xanga teamers because they are awesome, then shakes hands with all the men*
You guys are awesome.
Looking at it all the more…it evens out the play yard…excellent job…a HUGE thank you!
Awesome!
Cool stuff =)
These are good ideas. Nice!
Woooo!

Awesome. Now where is the area that links directly to my blog at all times? Hmmm?
@Lady_Songbird - haha good point.
Cool.

i think y’all are pretty much awesome.
cooooooooooool
This is a totally cool idea!
*Clap hands*
Thank you for returning “weblogs most recent”.
yay!
This is great. Now I’m gonna be RICH!
I think y’all know what you’re doing!
Cool! I know I’ll be using both of these features quite often. Now all we need is for Xanga to have some sort of alcoholic beverage dispenser and I think we’re set.
awesome
Neat.
This should be the Most Rec’d post! ^-^
This sounds great. Thanks guys. And gals. ;P
I do think it’s cheep that you featured this without it getting recced or anything. Just because you run the site doesn’t mean you can just feature whatever you want. Oh wait, yes it does.
very nice
That’s cool!
+2
Thanks so much! I missed the Recent Updates and the Most Recs should be interesting, especially as one moves down the list past the usual suspects. Thanks!
Did I say I love you lately??
Thanks for bringing back the Recent Updates ^_^ I had wondered where that went.
Nice Feature thanks!
Thank you!
If the blog is protected, does it means it won’t appear on it?
I love this idea!!!! Good thinkin’
yay for the return of recent blogs!!!
Hey, I like it!! Great job, guys!
I like putting back the Recent Updates!
Too cool!
Thanks guys!
How many votes does it take to get an idea worked on? Mine has 436 votes.
That’s very good. It will give the chance for the underrated ones to be rated appropriately. Bravo!
Cool!!
You are amazing. Thank you for always listening to people on Xanga and always making such improvements! No other site does it quite like you do.
woohoo.
Nice
I’m enjoying the “recent updates” addition to the front page. Thanks for listening to the ideas.
Great Idea – I like it.
how about adding a way for us to see our most commented, most recommended posts etc??
Thank ”
WONDERFUL!
This should be a nice way to find more interesting blog entries to read, keep up the top work Xanga.
I look forward to seeing how it works!
Yay for recent updates returning!
Cool!
This is great!
@Lithium98 - I’ll drink to that idea!
All the rec’d posts are popular posts, which is playing favorites if you ask me, but at least we get to see a variety of other posts thanks to my idea FINALLY being launched
Good work – now I can find other interesting blogs to read that are not necessarily the ones generating a lot of comments.
lol thats KOOL!!!!!!!!!!!<3xoxo<3
Great idea! (:
sounds good! thanks
ok
Good Idea!
thank you.
^_^
sweet…..
A great idea, but….
Most rec’d seem to be the same ppl who get featured and top blog. I think it would be great to give others a chance of being ‘put out there’ too. Not sure how you could implement this tho.
Super!
@venice - Featured weblogs on the front page does spotlight a wider range of users.
@dan - … but is there any other way to get found or featured other than submitting it yourself via featured weblog?
Cool!
@dan - - - btw – I really think you guys are doing a fantastic job with xanga….a HUGE thank you….. V
Just fyi, you guys need to fix the most rec’d things. Those are all wrong by now, lol… And I’ve definitely visited a few sites with more recs than the ones there, including my own =D
Thank y’all for the comment!

This is great. Really appreciate it!
Most req’ed does not seem to update frequently. I’ve got a friend who’s recent post had at last count 16 req’s and yet no sign of their blog on this feature. They only wrote it a day ago, what gives?
Nice.
finally!
I like this idea! Although I recommended my friend for her blog here http://www.xanga.com/yogaforbrunch/695069865/item because I liked her post. She got 12 recs but I don’t understand why she isn’t on the most recommended page? Does Xanga decide who goes on the page? If so, you should read her post. It’s good
Not bad. I think I like it.
How do I get to the most recommended phots and videos
excuse me! i just had a site named stellarduets. it got hacked by breanna. and i know that isn’t the first time seeing her name. please help me get it back. i REALLY want it back! message me back the password please.
i need more friends
Cool xD
Nice. I would like to read ‘non popular’ blogs for a change
@Lady_Songbird - Hi,
Myself Jimmy from Canada. Thanks for the useful information. Changing the way you see things can also change your reality. You can create your own rules for changing your reality.

This is great
funny how one hour a person has say 18 rec’s and a few hours say 5 of those rec’s dissapear.. you all are playing with a loaded deck - bad manners to only place the most popular over the most rec’d shame on you :p
I miss the blogring thing. It was a way to connect with people who have the same interests as I do without getting the people who are making the front page.
Blogrings are how I found most of the people I sub to. If it weren’t for blogrings I probably would not have continued my blog because most of my subs are people with similar lives to mine but who aren’t making controversial posts like those that are featured.
@dirtbubble - Hee hee, that’s an excellent thing to be happy about!
Hopefully I (unlikely) will get at least one rec’d post.
Another awesome update, thanks!
we need more control over the search functions for finding new friends.
