Update on Site Maintenance
Hey guys – you’ve probably noticed that the site has been intermittently slow and inaccessible today.
We switched network providers last night… but when traffic picked up, the bandwidth started to choke. Our network provider ended up having the wrong equipment on hand to fix it, and we’re waiting for the correct equipment to be delivered today.
Sorry for this – hopefully the new network providers will be online soon and the site will be faster than ever!
In the meantime – my humblest apologies for this…

Might I suggest finding a better network provider? Seriously, if they can’t handle normal business traffic… I don’t know that I’d want to stake my business on them.

I couldn’t sign in at all using xanga.com just now. I had to use my tshxanga to sign in.
I’m only angry because I’m horribly bored at work without xanga.

Apparently, xanga.com is less accessible than http://www.xanga.com at the moment.
Perhaps there is a better way to communicate status around outages (which should rarely occur). Redirect to a status page here? It took me quite a while to find this page via Google… I’m not feeling the Xanga love this weekend.
Now I know how it feels without Xanga.
Anyway, thanks for the slow connection. At least I able to convince myself to shutdown my notebook for hours and do the real thing. I did my laundry, played with my chipmunk, took a shower,brush my teeth, lol..you name it!
Stuff happens, especially when you have technology-dependent products. I’ve found it to be true in my own company as well as others I do business with; so I don’t expect that life running Xanga is any different. The best thing you can do is what you just did: communicate openly and honestly about what the issues are and what you’re doing to resolve them. Thanks.

ok this “page load error” thing is getting annnnooooyyyiiiinnng! How much longer until you have it fixed?? I have tried 4 different browsers, restarted my comp twice, and still nada.

I can’t access the help page, and I really need help. Someone from Xanga was stalking me, this site, the user name is TELEHIT they rigged my e-mail so they could find me when I moved sites, or changed passwords, and now I’ve been booted out of my new site, that I adore. Ok. I’m at Datingish and while I can access the Xanga page, I can’t access the Datingish front page or log on from there like I usually do – I try logging on at the Xanga front page, and I can see my public blogs and everything but can’t get into my private home… suppose that’s normal, considering the changes and everyone else’s problems logging in? Thanks for the updates.

I’m curious to know why some days I get my subs digest in my email, and some days I just don’t…I knew today that I wouldn’t since I saw that I have new stuff that usually gets me an email, but didn’t, so today not truly counting, why is that?
I love get my subs in my inbox, so is there anything I can do to make sure it comes? Or is it all a system flaw that can’t be fixed?

Oh no! I’ve tried to log onto the sister/brother sites, but they still don’t work.
must have been a rough night for the all of us,
the pictures and photos haven’t been loading properly for me since pre-update…. (is that done on purpose to free up bandwidth?)
and themes editing has been broken since about a week ago…? I can’t edit anything, it just keeps on processing but doesn’t stop. doh!
I think what we need here is a magic wand, anybody got a spare?

If you folks need help with anything, let us know. I personally would be willing/able to give a few hours a week of technical assistance/support/programming assistance/Project Management if it would help. I’m sure there are bunches of others who feel the same way.
I’m also good at bitching out vendors if that’s what’s needed.

Today is 6/5, I try to upload several photos to XANGA, it seems that the process was done but they could not be shown properly….Moreover, we still could not see our old photos…Could they be recovered? All of them are really important for me …

June 1st and it’s the 6th now and still some major bugs, this has to be making ya’ll crazy. I know ya’ll are doing the best you can to get things straightened out but people are getting impatient. Maybe they’d feel a little better if you updated once in a while. Sometimes it’s easier to be patient when those in charge take a moment to say something about the situation. Even a small blog to say, “Hey guys we really are working on this and it’s driving us nutz trying to get it all up and running?” something like that would at least let folks know they’re being heard and that you share in the frustration. I’m praying for ya’ll to get this all worked out soon.

This is like the time my company switched co-lo providers because the old one’s facility couldn’t support our growing demand for power, and 1 week after switching to the new one a small fire knocked out the new provider’s grid system and their backup generators were out of fuel. We got a very healthy rebate for downtown – hope Xanga gets the same. I haven’t been able to upload photos at all for over a day.
Great! Keep up the good work! I have also noticed that when I go to make a new post, the weblog format is different (wider, and I cannot bring posts with pictures from my Blogger account and have them show up on my Xanga post, where I used to be able to do that). I’d like the old format back…please?

So maintenance started June 1st, and is still going??? Every time I try to post photos it tells me that section is down for maintenance, it’s getting a little old. Xanga your letting me down.
