Moniet suggested we add a
no vote to Idea voting:
With this current system, all that is discovered is that some people like the idea suggested...which is obvious if it's been suggested by more than one person. A vote implies a choice, all this is is validation. Add an option for saying NO, not paid for with credits, but free. Then it will actually be a vote, and not just agreement.
So we went ahead and did just that! You can check out all the top ideas here, and vote no on all the ideas you dislike:
This is especially cool because now you can't just buy Yes votes with a plug. If you plug your Idea, you're risking that other people will say No. That really helps even the playing field.

Let us know what you think!

*clicks 'oppose' on all ideas* Mwuahahahaha! *cue lightening and thunder*
I was wondering if this was going to get done. Makes sense. But do No votes even out Yes votes and does the top votes reflect that?
AWESOME. =D
@LyricallyCharged - Not yet... we figured we'd wait until we got a few No votes, then add that. Wanted to get this out quickly!
THANK YOU.

@john - Okely dokely!
I tried to go vote "No" to the idea of being able to vote no, but it wouldn't let me...
I approve. Good job XangaTeam! :D
@DrugInducedDuck - Yah that feature is already marked as Launch... sorry about that!
Nice try though!
Great! Now to go vote no.
Yayyy! Thanks Xanga!
that means if the number of 'no's out number the 'yeses' so that means an idea will be out?
Well now we need a way to reverse our votes, as I just clicked the wrong button twice. -_-
I really like this!
Great idea, as always! ~ V
Because of the bias that some voters might have, there should be a mandatory reason given as to why someone is voting for or against.
Similar to the option to decline a friend invite (granted, now we can just IGNORE the invite without giving a reason). But with voting, this affects everyone - not just individuals we're declining a friend invite to. WHY are people voting yes or no?
So a list of general reasons should be provided... this way we can get a better idea of what's going through people's minds in regards to their voting mentality. Are they voting yes because they think it will improve traffic/comments? Are they voting no because it will detract from the community feeling of Xanga? Voting yes because it will make blogging easier? No because it is unfair to a particular group of people? These are things, even if listed in general, that will make the voting system more refined (I hope). And ideally, it will lessen voter bias...especially on ideas that really aren't that good.
Awesome! Thanks!
awesome!
Awesome! I'm going to say "no" on all the ideas just to tick people off.
Hurrah!
Awesome! I've been waiting for this for ages =D
HORAY!! I am so glad this is finally implemented!!!
come up with a way to merge ideas already.... i suggested a no vote way before moniet
I think it's a great idea - nice way for both sides to be heard. Hopefully people don't abuse it just to be an arse.
