I despise Texas.
so when are yall gonna make the “xangsta” badge to match the LIFE and TRUE badges?
Now I’ll have to send one!
Nice picts.
Love these!
I know the Frankfurt one! Maybe I’ll send you one from Berlin some day
@OfElection - and what exactly is so bad about Texas?
That map is fairly close, Texas is a little to small though. ;p@Natalia - I dropped by @ 9 am (central) today, I didn’t see anything?
@OfElection - Have you never heard of the saying “Don’t mess with Texas”? Same for Texans.
@awth44 - we were on for a little while! sorry you missed us . . . we might be doing a show tomorrow 5-6 p.m. est, too
@Natalia - I’d show, but I’ve got class during that time, so I can only catch y’all Tuesday mornings.
@awth44 - aw man . . . well, we’ll catch you next week (and i promise to look for you, too
)
awww i love polar bears! they are cool postcards!
i like the flying fish. haha
@awth44 - Yeah I’ve heard the saying, who hasn’t? It’s that same pompous and arrogant attitude from Texas that bothers me so much. They have a serious case of inflated ego, and nothing special to show. Here is a good point, “Texan by the Grace of God”. What kind of stuck up “religious” blogring is that? My saying for Texas is “It’s all size and no substance”. But still, what bothers me the most is the oversized ego, but then, everything is oversized here. I can’t wait to to get out of here.That being said, what do you mean don’t mess with Texans? I didn’t say anything about Texans, and it’s the cocky attitude displayed there that drives me up the wall.
@eadie - Exactly? I’m not going to right a book, but I like to say Texas is all size and no substance, and I’m stuck in smack dab in the middle of this frying pan.
@eadie - I’m so worked up, I can’t even spell “write”.
@OfElection - no substance? PLEASE do explain because I live in Fort Worth and would love to hear a decent argument as to what Texas is lacking
@eadie - Oh my, it was a simple comment. I’m not sure why a Texans ego should be harmed by a non-Texan forced to live here. It isn’t exactly that they don’t have anything, but they don’t have enough to justify their completely pompous ego, as a whole. What really bothers me is seeing a bumper sticker that sadly states “I wasn’t born in Texas, but I came here as fast as I can”. Like you need to justify yourself not being born in Texas. Maybe it’s the area I’m in….
@OfElection - i wasn’t about to toss an ego arround, you simply stated that you dispise Texas, and dispising something isn’t typically a result of conditions being mediocre, but more probably a result of them being less than so. Perhaps you can despise the stereotypical Texan attidude, but at the same time, there is nothing wrong with being proud of your state, and Texas truly does have alot to be proud of.
Oh what a wonderful array of postcards from just about everywhere..:) How nice to have them…and so sweet of them to send them to you all..something nice for your wall…great ones** Take good care…hugs, Lee
Just saw the album** wow..these are all fantastic…something about postcards…:)
@eadie - I know, I’m proud of my state. But like I said, the oversized ego bothers me. A lot of Texans I know seem to think that Texas is not only the best state, but it is better than the United States, and that everyone else needs to know/should agree.I really don’t like the weather here in Central Texas, though today was nice, I guess that would be a truer despising of Texas.
@OfElection - i can agree on the weather, even here in DFW it’s bad, and i’m sure Texas isn’t better than the U.S., however is there any other state I would rather live in? Nope, which pretty much means that in my opinion Texas IS the best state. You gotta have a favorite, and usually you are gonna chose to live in it. This is probably why people that live in Texas think Texas is the best state.
@eadie - I don’t think it’s bad to think Texas is the best state, I’ve got my favorite too…but it is the pompous arrogance that drives me insane. Oh well, I guess that is why I won’t end up living here. In fact, I was excited about Texas at first, and then I got here and it was foggy, wet, and freezing cold.
@OfElection - um, I was kidding. I agree with you really. But Texas is the best state for me.
@awth44 - Wow, well you pressed the right buttons then, because I really took off! I guess it is a sore subject for me.
@OfElection - I’m really sorry about that.
haha, sorry, didn’t mean to start a BIG texas thang.
things really are bigger here. i’m from mississippi, originally, but my husband is texas born. texas, love it or leave it he says. tried to get him to move to mississippi, but noooooo : )
@awth44 - Not a big deal, I’m not upset or anything.@be_the_rain - haha, Texans hardly need a provocation anyway….
Texas? George W Bush.
QED
Thats almost like postsecret. You should post more at times.
I was looking at postcards in the store the other day, but I still haven’t found the right one to send you guys.
Great photos/postcards!I left the following comment on John’s blog, but it’s a subject that is important to me, and I wanted the rest of the Team to hear it too. I’d appreciate hearing back on this subject, but I understand you are all very busy. Thank you for reading.A suggestion!And one that I hope does not fall on deaf ears. As a photographer, blogger, and user of Xanga, Facebook, and Myspace, I have to say that I am disappointed with Xanga’s photo-sharing abilities. In my humble opinion, Facebook has this in the best quality. I have 18 albums, comprised over probably 300 pictures, maybe more. I’m not altogether opposed to Xanga’s limitations to non-premium members, but I feel that the actual photoblog is simply not intuitive enough to be useful as a main way of sharing photos. I love Facebook and Myspace’s albums which make it easier to find photos of a certain event, person, place, or anything. Instead of my most recently uploaded pictures being shown on the left hand side of my blog, I would much prefer it to be individually clickable albums with customizable cover photos. What do you think?
HOW DO YOU TURN THESE FUCKING RECOMMENDATIONS OFF! I DIDN’T WANT SPAM BEFORE AND I DON’T WANT IT NOW.
I love the postcards! I have one for you, I just need to buy a stamp!

Yay, it got there without being mangled. You have some really great artwork for your walls now, lol. I’ll send you guys another one from Ireland in a couple weeks, which do you prefer Dublin or Galway? We’ll be in both.
there re so beautiful man
Maybe I’m really slow. In which case… I’m sorry.But I was attempting to invite people to join my blogring, and I am unable to find the “invite” button or text.I found this on the help page:How do I invite people to join my blogring?Just sign into Xanga, and visit a blogring that you’ve already joined.See on the upper left side of the page, where it says:
Members:» Invite Members» Approve Members» Manage Members» Your MembershipJust click on “Invite Members”, and a page will appear
that lets you invite people to join your blogring. To invite new
members, just fill out the email fields on that page and click “Send »”.
@Lifes_Station - You can opt out of the recs by going here http://edit.xanga.com/editaccountprivacy.aspx
@The_Palantiri -Hi there! You can also add albums w/customizable covers on xanga as well. Just go to “edit theme” and then click add modules. A menu will drop down and you can add “recent albums” to your site (you can change the name of that module to anything you’d like). You can place the album module anywhere you’d like on your page by dragging and dropping it. For an example of what the album module looks like you can go to Dan’s page (http://www.xanga.com/dan) and take a look at the lower left corner. I hope this helps! Thanks for your suggestions!
It’s a really nice idea!
@eugenia - Oh wow, now I feel like an idiot. I’ve seen these albums, I just forgot about them. Something’s still missing though… it just doesn’t feel as easy. I don’t know… I don’t really like the idea of having a photoblog and then separate photo albums and I guess I don’t like that (as far as I know) you can’t upload the photos directly into an album. In my opinion, these two features should be integrated. The photoblog just seems so unorganized and it confuses me that there are like three different ways to view photos in your blog and I’m not exactly sure how to get to each one as opposed to another. It’s just not intuitive yet. Thanks for the feedback though, I’ll probably go give the Albums module a shot and hopefully something even better will come along later.
@The_Palantiri - Please don’t feel bad, I think you raised a great question! As you play around more with the photo manager and albums things will become a little easier to use. We are trying to tweak things so hopefully things will become a little more intuitive for all our users. You can also upload photos directly into albums in the photo manager/upload page. You just need to create the album first, then choose the photos you want to upload and then click “upload photos.” The photos will go right into the album. You can also rearrange the order of the photos in the album and pick a cover for the album too. I checked out your page and think your work is great! Please let me know if you have more questions or any other suggestions.
aww, i forgot!
@sugarxane - Hi there! We used to have a link that allowed users to invite folks to blogrings directly from the blogring page but unfortunately some ppl abused that link. So now we suggest you message your friends and paste in the link to your blogring for them to join.
Nice! I’m gonna send mine this week. :]

The postcards above were mostly ho-hum, but a few in the album were rather cool. It’s too bad I can’t hit a “recommend” button on individual album images like I can with individual weblog posts. Thanks for sharing. :^)
That’s awesome.i want to go somewhere so I can send a postcard.
@eugenia - I uploaded a picture and accidentally didn’t add it to my album. Now I can’t find an option to move it. Is that an option and I’m missing it?And I know this might be a lot to ask, but I’d like to suggest a possible drag and drop feature for organizing pictures into albums. (Like DeviantArt has done.) It makes things SO simple. Personally, I’d like it if the pictures I’ve sorted into albums could not show up individually on my main photo manager page so that I can easily keep track of what’s sorted and what isn’t. Does that make sense?Thanks for all of the hard work that you guys put in! You make me love Xanga. I can’t wait to become a life member.
@EilisAngelos - Hey there! You can go to the photo manager and then click the picture you want to put in an album and then scroll down and choose the album you want to put the picture in and click “add to album.”Thanks for the suggestions. We’re always tweaking things to make them more intuitive and user suggestions always help. =)
that is soo cool i want to do that!
The one from Indiana is very Monty Python….
