As to content, I am using xanga themes

 I run professional anti-virus and malware detection. and no alerts are showing. I will look at the html in front page to see if I see anything unusual. Again thank you.  John

thanks, that sounds like one of the widgets address code, I will check it out.. Now re the topic of this post==personal urls---just say no until xanga gets their act together.

My
personal url was fine for the first few days but now is nothing more
than a redirect. I am a web hosting reseller and could have bought a
domain and forwarded it to xanga for less and not paid xanga squat, and
had my own cpanel and domain email for less money. But I figured I would again support xanga financially and this is not what it is advertised to be.

Now my address bar reads http://provokingthought.xanga.com/ not http://provokingthought.net

In this post they gave this site as a example http://www.scienceandinquiry.com
and I went and looked and that was the domain url. No more. So until
they get it right, I would not buy it (though I already bought it)

Problem solved! If it happens to anyone else go here:

change default to your www. address

@milubbles - as soon as Marc got the message on monday morning  he messaged me with the solution and it was fixed.

Having a direct url makes a big difference when you are blogging. You still are plugged into xanga network/get xanga traffic/ but have the stand alone url. I am going to use it for a while and see how it works our but will most likely transfer a few blogs into the network.

The biggest complaint I have from people about xanga is all the cookies. If you ever look at your page in html mode you would see what I mean. Once you have established a network on xanga that was a lot of time and effort involved. So that is why I tie mine in with networked blogs and TCU, expanding the network beyond xanga while keeping it in xanga.

Thanks again, and if you noticed I elimated that one widget that set off the warning. It was a youtube widget . I plan on working on that sidebar this week to change some links so that was a motivator.
